Do they sell these in Australia or do I have to buy them from Europe?

only Europe I believe. I got mine online.

Worth stocking here, they are really light, good straight down the mast view, and fix on well, but make sure you tether your gopro, just like any other mast mount - safety first :P

This is what I use, and it is excellent! Never had a problem, doesn't damage the sails at all and is rock solid if you have the right size! Easy to make and cheap.

+1 above. I've used such claws, as well as the real, $20 Gopro claw, both for boom and mast.
Beaten the bejesus out of it, and it holds well.
For safety rope for the mast mount, I use a 2nd grip a few inches above.
Go cheap !

Zed man

A mate used an RDM adaptor (the rubber one for boom to clamp onto) with a L shaped bracket bolted on. Works well and never fallen off but I would tether well just in case.
Of course that does not work for the upper, say half, of the mast.
