Anyone got any pics of how they attach the whizmount to their harness? Can you still wear a buoyancy vest ( Neil Pryde) if you have the mount on?

the wizmount ususally dosen't attach to the harness, it comes in the form of a backpack so you wear your pfd under it

Ok. Yes I noticed that . I thought Nigel connected his to his harness? .
I have a camel back attached to the back of my buoyancy vest so it will be interesting to see if I can fit the wizmount backpack over that..or maybe wear the camelback on the wizmount?

I wanted to remove the top pic as it doesn't really show the setup but I can't figure out how? Bottom pic shows vest + camelback..it's pretty bulky.

Just throwing it out there but maybe you can not wear the camel back

you'd only be wearing the wizmount for short spells so would be fine to leave the camel pack off while you go out and shoot some photos and videos.

How far off is the go pro purchase? Looking forward to seeing the pics

The Camelbak bladder will fit inside the Wizmount, just but not very well!!
Or you could tape or glue the bladder to the back of the Wizmount but be very careful. The Wizmount is supposed to be worn by itself.
You would have to either get a huge size of either to fit one with the other.
By itself the Wizmount is quite comfy, you just have to be very aware of where the camera and pole are and your rig. It can stick out a long way!!!!

Yes it would be very easy to poke a big hole in a new sail with one of those things

Eek!
Hmmm I was planning on wearing it the whole session and then just editing bits out..So this doesn't sound like the way most users use them?
You just put it on for a few runs?
I'll have to try and catch Cluffy and check his setup out.

I'm still waiting on funds , researching and procrastinating...
I won't really be able to get any decent footage until my shoulder is right anyway. It's going ok but I'm still not sure it will handle waterstarting so I'm not doing much sailing in chop and that's where I want to use the go pro.

Is there anyone around Sydney that stocks them so I can try one on? I'd just be guessing the size if I was to buy online..

I like the wizmount but I have enough sails in my garage need repair. Don't need to see it on a replay how I put another hole in my sail.

The best videos are shot from multiple points of view. The example you posted is a good example. So wearing the wizmount for the whole session will only give you one point of view. Also if you wear the wizmount only for short times you then limit the possibility of mishap. Also, get a mast mount clamp, which you can also use on your boom and extension poles,on you boom.

Nobody stocks them that I know of. The dealer sells direct. They are popular with the dirt bike crowd.
They are very adjustable like all back packs and one size fits all. The pole can be long or short and used at many angles. Its very well put together.
