Some of the shots where he comes down fast at them, im wondering if there's some camera zoom/lens trickery afoot. None the less very skilled flying.

Yes, I was wondering whether he is actually using a 360 camera and then doing the framing later

Yes, probably using the dolly zoom technique. Zoom the lens in while the drone swoops down towards the subject;
