Thanks PK - got a message from the severne team & sorting one out - got a temporary boom fix so can go and scare myself in the dark waters behind the bombie

The boom has a lot of use in the past 3 years - certainly paid for itself - I use to break one alloy year

Nah just ordinary old fun size gusty wind wave sailing, a lot of use and alloy booms that corrode - no probs with carbon - i use to be heavy > 94 kg - 84kg now prob helps

north, HPL, Pryde, chinook - broken and bent them all

So this makes it the 4th broken Enigma wave boom that I know of and the first with a broken head (the other 3 had broken arms). Never heard of a broken X9 and it does have a carbon head. Too bad that the grip falls off just by looking at it. If someone has a broken X9 story, fill me in on the details - I am shopping for a wave boom.

This is 3+ yo boom that gets a **** load of use mainly in waves with 4.0 to 6.2 blades - i am not particularly careful with my gear. I wouldn't call it a broken boom but a broken replaceable part and the best boom ive ever had
