I'd like to know what glue is used for the styro, that the hotwire will still cut? I know some use PVA or a polyurethane but first is weak and second may be too rubbery for hotwire?
less homogenous for sure, but probably not weaker in any way that'd matter. you need to maintain the shear strength in your core, and with the way the bonds run, it shouldn't get compromised.
might be a tiny bit better to have the blocks in a single layer?
half the reason I have not built the SUP I wanted to do, is that the blank is so damn huge................... as usual, seabreeze is a bad influence upon me

If you want I have 15kg EPs just send a profile and outline in dxf form through or a full model(shape 3d). Don't go gluing foam together like a pleb lol.
