I bought some clear ding tape from a waveski shop a while ago and finally got to use it after the weekend when stupid let the board blow into the car ( I haven't checked the car yet..its got so much dirt on it you couldn't tell anyway...The car only gets washed about 2 x a year.
Is this tape meant to be a temporary fix or permanent? I think it's made for surfboards / waveskis..
The board got some cracks around the edge of the nose but they weren't that bad. Luckily it was my oldest dinged up board or I would have been spewing..

Want the Caveman back?

What tape is that? To stop dinging the edges of kayak paddles, I use 1mm thick helicopter tape. Costs about $12 per metre from Fibreglass Material Supplies/Valspar at Seven Hills. Doesn't really provide an protection for WW kayaking, though :)

Could see the board was going to get blown around last week at Rodd Point, so tied the rig to a tree with an old tie-down strap (buckle/cam broke, so cut that off), while I walked back to car to change.

It is for things that don't matter so much if a tiny bit of water gets in. Modern WS board styro cores mean water is bad bad bad.

It is not permanent if it is on a proper ding.

No room. Have you used it yet?
I.m usually the one who tells everyone else to watch that their gear doesn'tget blown around.. It's usually protected at Valentine so I was a bit slack. I was thinking it was a Southerly rather than a SSW and blowing in a bit at 30kts +..I'd usually get dressed , rig and tie to a tree then get the board out.
Helicopter tape..? So you put it on and leave it.? The stuff I have seems pretty good but just not sure if its supposed to be just a temporary repair.
Mm Ok just read your Mark. I thought I had some board bog ( or nead it stuff) I'll try to find that. that would be ok wouldn't it?
