If you wanted awesome flatwater sailing in August and could go anywhere, where would you go?

I'd love consistent 15-20 every day, long runs, warm clear waist deep water (so energy can go into perfecting gybes rather than water starting!), safe sailing with no nasty currents or razor coral, easy rigging & launching, and easy access to gear and accommodation, but not too fussy

Thank you! Have been to Cocos twice and I think it is pretty near perfection. Just found the tides and gear a bit limiting the second time. If it was easy to get my own gear over from the east coast, I think I'd be there in a flash!

Any other suggestions greatly appreciated!

You're in NSW? I'm thinking Lake Illawarra's going to be pretty hot this August...

here in wa the fronts start coming through, and you can always find a speed strip suitable, shark bay might also be working

Canton Beach is better. The water is chest rather than knee deep. Very safe. Plenty of accomodation across the road from the foreshore park with two caravan parks. No hire gear though, nor warm or clear water You get used to the smell after a while. Lots of interesting locals too.

Firstly, I have a hire setup on lord Howe island so slightly biased....

But since you,re asking. August on lord Howe is great. Can,t say too much more for risk of advertising...

I have seen some good piccies of sailing in the lagoon at Lord Howe Nic....looks good and worth investigating.

Surely August would be the tail end of the windy season in Hawaii - got to be some flatwater there somewhere - good exchange rates now too. Warmer than Lord Howe, but more expensive and further to travel though too

Lord Howe is a great windsurfing location.

This Autumn is getting pretty good weather here. Much better than last year unless you like rain every day. Windy weekends too, what more can we ask for? It bodes well for a good winter of windsurfing.
