G'day All!!!
I'm bringing my young family over (from Bunbury WA) in early October for catch up @ Aunty's 80th birthday. The birthday party is in Bateman's Bay and it is on the last Sunday of the school holidays (7th October I think).
Chasing local opinion & comment (or pm's if ur shy to share in the forum) on any windsurfing in the area - prefer flatwater blasting - given it is Winter & I may steal away for a couple of hours an afternoon. Chasing advice on best wind for any spots in the area, any secret sandbars that work when the stars align?
Could I be lucky enough for any gear hire in town? I know it is a long shot!
(we will be bringing a couple of surfboards for fun, but can't justify carting windsurfing gear around when it's not a windsurfing trip...)
Any leads on decent family accom for two to three nights will also help - prefer to support forum friends etc & any "MUST DO!" advice for the region will be gladly received!
Thanks for reading the post & be reassured that all opinions will be taken as just that, not gospel, so don't be shy to talk about your part of the world!
Cheers!!!!!
Seats...
Broulee is where most sail.
I don't think there has been any hire about since the eighties, i could be wrong.
You may need to go that far south for surfing too, i have rented a SUP at Broulee.
Nth Broulee beach is the go in NE. Choppy across bay but butter smooth for gybes at Southern end. No hire gear anywhere down Sth Coast that I know of sorry.
Good surfing at Sth Broulee or Moruya breakwall. Nothing really closer to the Bay.
Only other spot for sailing is Coila Lake down at Tuross Heads - about 40 mins south of the Bay.
Would need your own gear. NE tend to kick in November but will take them ASAP. Been a s@&thouse winter.
Cheers
