Hello all,
just wondering if anyone could tell me if 9mt severne code red would be compatible with a naish 490 carbon mast 90% 490-26-29. Length wise should be fine just not sure about curve, flex etc. any advce would be welcome

Naish mast curve seem to be pretty similar to severne, according to this chart:
www.unifiber.net/masts-selector
both seem to be close to constant curve but leaning towards stiff top. I'm happy with the way my 9m code red rigs on a fiberspar 500 which I think is also slightly stiff top.

With Severne you are looking at a hard top.
Therefore Severne should be compatible with Naish, Gaastra, Maui sails and Sailloft as well.

So the answer to your question is; you should be doing fine.

A constant curve mast probably can be used as well with a minor drawback in performance. The only thing you should avoid is a flextop mast. Such as Neil pryde and Tuschingham.
