Severne psycho appears to be a freestyle board. Love the colour scheme. I wonder if this means Severne is branching out into broader board manufacture??! Anyone know any more about their 2019 range?

Yes a freestyle board tested and possibly co-developed by Dieter Van Der Eyken.

I believe there is also a hardcore 5 finbox wave board called Mako which might debut next season.

I really like dark boards... but don't they heat in the sun more?

I bet they all go faster, handle better, plane earlier, turn tighter, handle a wider range of wind conditions and have enhanced durability....or not?

How bad a brandname is Duotone though?

Ion sails would have been better

There is a french web site with a bit more info, apparently duotone is not the fully official name yet. It could just be a place holder while the legalities are nutted out between Boards and More, and North. I think B&M just changed the name to sever ties with North as a stop gap. Take this info with a grain of salt however.

Agreed Ion sails would be a cool name,

AFAIK, Ion is supposed to be the group's "neutral" brand. So a rider can be sponsored by Ion for his harness, but Severne for his sail and JP for his board. But yeah, "Duotone" sucks. Sounds like a paint company.

I don't think they would apply for a European trademark and go through an entire branding exercise if it was just a placeholder. My guess is North Kites and Windsurfing Sails the brand has only had a financial tie with North. They probably paid a licensing fee to use the name. One can only assume that licensing agreement probably ran out and North probably wanted too much money. A bit like what seems to have happened with Gaastra and GA sails.Ironically most Europeans (especially Germans) have a problem pronouncing the word "North" properly. So changing the name at least solves that problem.
