I decided to try wingfoiling but I would like to know if my 160 levitator will give me same experience as the dedicated wingfoil board. I tried to find this in prior discussions but could not find. Is there anyone already experienced this transition using windsurf foilboard?

Wing board normally has a different concept comparing windsurfing foiling.

Check these out, both on Slingshot windfoil boards:

I hope to try my 125L this week if I get wind. Incan report back, but I am brand new to wingfoiling.

This is Wyatt Miller answer abou the same question

Both the Wizard 105 and the Freestlye work great with the standard FWIND foil setup, especially with the i84 wing. I do like using the adjustable tracks on the Freestyle to move the foil a bit further forward for winging.

So I would say 115 is better, but I started out on the 105 and loved it.

Look at the foil placement on both kinds of boards.

Most likely that is why he was asking.

Im winging on my Naish hover 142 Wind foil board.
Straps off, Leash screwed into rear foot strap plug, Foil as far forward as possible and loving it.

So, which do you favour? Are you going to purchase a larger wing for lower wind days?

What size of a foil on what kind of wind you were using with this set-up?
Do you have to use board leash?
I feel that the board should not float too much of a distance but not having a leash may be safer.
How was your switch and progress on the wingfoiling?
Is the speed significantly lower with wing foiling?

I got out wingfoilng on my Wizard 125L today. It was my first time ever wingfoiling. The board worked just fine. I could see how a mast further forward would help a bit, but it's no big deal at all. Would I rush out to buy a dedicated wingfoil board? Nope. I got flying on my first reaches and jibed clumsily on my first try. I was in super gusty conditions 0-18kts that would have had me on a 7.3 wingfoiling, albeit flying more. The wing I used was a 5m and was enough in the gusts. I look forward to stronger, steadier winds.

I99 on a 15 inch mast. (Shallow water)
Curly leash attached to the rear foot strap plug.
The speed is slower but I'm only on session 6 and just happy being up and foiling. Haven't tried to push the speed year.
I did an hour on a SUP board to get the hang of wing control and the second run on my Hover 142 I got up and went 50m no problems. Its easier than you think (if you can already windsurf and Foil.

I tried, and if you have the possibility to mount a surf or wing specific foilwing on a windsurfing fuselage you should be 100% ok. On the other hand, if you cant it might not feel that great. Take a look at this wing/wind crossover board from F-One, the tracks are for windfoil, the fixed inserts in front of the tracks are for wingfoil, but F-One has monobloc carbon wing/fuselage sections, so mounting a wingsurfing specific foil like the Phantom range on a windsurf fuselage is not possible. The difference in mast position between the tracks and fixed inserts is roughly 20cm.

I made the purchase of 2 Slingwing V2's for wingfoiling. A 6.4 and 4.4. I am currently using them with my Levitator 160. Works pretty well for learning, but I think the width and length of the board is a hindrance to progressing past just foiling back and forth. Still a ton of fun though!

I was talking to a guy on the beach who was very happy with his 8ft Hypernut 4in1 for winging, with slingshot foil. Looked like a heavyweight like me (90kgs). Im guessing once you get good you want something smaller/dedicated.
