Took this sail with me when I traveled western Oz back in 97/98 and have fond memories of getting my arse handed to me on a mast high day at Margret River. It's been in the attic for over 15 years, rolled it out this week and took her foiling.

Sailworks 5.8 - 5 batten wave sail. Luff 468, relatively tight leach. So would an old school sail with deep luff pocket and soft pumping, work on new school SS Wizard and 84 infinity wing?

I couldn't stop grinning...unbelievable:)

It could've been either an alligator gar, big mouth bass or giant cat fish. Normally when the water warms up the gar will float around like logs. We normally hit a few per season.

They're definitely more fearsome looking more than their bite!
considering the nasties you guys have to deal with :) ...I remember listening to the wildlife as soon as the sun went down outside my tent at coronations, I will never forget it, lol.

We foil on lake ray Hubbard about 30 mins east of Dallas. The wind gets squeezed between the park and jetty, so provides us with plenty of foiling days. In a southeast it gives us a "slingshot" wind, when you get past the jetty it blows pretty good from butter smooth water to fun little swells.

I think old sails work just fine for windfoiling. Recently I got several sessions in with a Sailworks Revolution 5.0 on a formula board and AFS-2 with the bigger F800 wing (1120 cm2). The combination was just fine. Balanced, easy, controlled.

I use a quiver of old Sailworks 1999-vintage XT race sails for foiling. 3-cam, lightweight, stable draft, very nice. 6.4, 7.4, and 8.5. Until I wear them out, there is no need to go with new foiling sails.

Segler, which masts are you using with your sailworks? I sold the sailworks mast that I had years ago! I had the 5.8 revo rigged on a maui sails 460 which is a hard top...it worked out pretty good, just not perfect.
