Amazing footage - extreme upwind hiking out and awesome foil tacks

I guess we get an insight where windfoil racing will be in the next couple of years

Wow!! Love the super quick tacks and the big carving gybes. Lots of skill there.
Hell of a poo stance though

Yep cool video, you have to admire how fast they are. A windfoil will never get close around a course, they sail better angles much faster and can foil tack....it's actually not even close. This side of an AC50 there isn't a wind powered craft with a better VMG for course racing. Looks awkward as all heck though, will stick to windfoiling thanks

Yeah they are pretty amazing, went out on my windfoil one day with a friend on his kitefoil setup and even though he was using an inflatable I struggled to match his upwind pace. Off the wind I had more control so gather it takes a lot of skill to handle the kitefoil at non upwind angles.

It does look awkward for sure, the waist harnesses not helping, but probably no choice to make it all work. You wonder if some of the refinements such as having boards with the bevels on the side and such will make it's way to windfoils as pro windsurfers learn more and refine their skills?

I keep wanting to get out on one as I can borrow a foilboard and kitesurf on occasion. I saw another amazing video with foilboard racing, will have to find it!
