I recon November is the worst month for surfing here. Lear to kite surf as its probably one of the best months for NE sea breezes.

There is no good time to surf Bondi. Probably the worst wave on the east coast - unless you like a good perve

I was at Bondi this past January. The waves was so so. I thought I arrived there at a wrong timing. Guess I should never surf there again.

Kite surfing sounds good, but I can try it in my country. The reason why I decided to surf in Gold Coast is because in my country there aren't any good beaches to surf. The waves are either too choppy, close very fast, or even NO WAVES at all during summer time.

SAD.

Where are you based normally? Nov is generally a pretty crap time for high quality waves on the east coast of Australia. There is generally lots of waves to be had but its in-between seasons as such so the quality is not there. If you are more at the beginning of your surfing career then you will probably be fine. Bondi is a pretty average beach break on the best of days but there are lots of good waves not too far away.

just head straight to the Gold Coast and stay around Snapper/Coolangatta area you'll get heaps of waves and be amongst some of the friendliest surfers around who will give you tips and show you all the local breaks,It gets a little crowded but they all enjoy new faces in the line up to spread the stoke-Enjoy

You will get some waves but its not the best time, if you go 1 hour south it tends to be better.

I live in Hong Kong where waves are generally crappy and flat, especially in summer time. I surf for around 2 years mostly at HK and sometimes Bali and Taiwan. Bondi waves are fine for me they're not so big (I surfed there only 4 times, so far i just encountered small waves which is around 5 to 10 feet). Anyway, I think I need to change my plan for my Nov vocation.

Don't worry about Bondi. Too many shark attacks and it's been shut for the season. They're trying to keep it quiet so as not to affect tourism.

Hey man, if 5 - 10 ft is small for you, why not check out Shippies in Tassie or Ours (not too far from Bondi) on a bigger swell, I reckon you'll do alright!
