I have been surf foiling for some time and really enjoy it.
Lots of days that I would class as completely useless have become super fun! I had tons of fun days in the water in 1-2 ft and no one around.

This foiling thing may not be for everyone. But if you put in the work the payoffs are long rides on waves you thought were never worth it!
It is hard and it can be dangerous to others and yourself. It's a good idea to contact a school for a lesson to get started.
If you are heading out make sure you choose an uncrowded spot and some crumbly small waves.

Those looking on more info or just foil frothers check out this group.

There are lots of good info and very experienced foilers to get tips from. You can also find events to help you get started and try gear.

Many just dont have the character to being a kook all over again....and I get that.

I did my 10 years of same board dimensions-hello momentum! Now that I'm mid 40s, I just want to be able to kerp moving....so the short board, mini Mal, kite, sup, sup foil and prone foil help me to do that.

Just can't get into the mal though....but that's likely due to it not fitting my 'ants in pants' persona.

All horses for courses. For the foil haters, it really does feel better than it looks.....agree it does look a bit wank....but it is a revelation to turn up to complete mud and be frothing...

Better less foilers anyway. More junk waves for me to enjoy on my own....

I witnessed just recently, a not young dude attempting to run his mega wing alongside a pontoon and leap on pumping. Got nowhere faaaast.
I don't know if this is how it is learnt, but I highly doubt it.

Hard way to learn but possible. Took me heaps of starts to even get close . You probably watched my first session this was from my second session. Smaller board and foil this time.
