Short clip from last weekend, Aaron Coopersmith and Amos from Amos Shapes, both on boards made by Amos. Aaron in the steamer is on a Go Foil Iwa and Amos is on an Axis 820 wing and 90cm mast.

Thanks. Now I've got something to help me fall asleep on a restless night/ flight.

Ha . This reminds me of when I told my missus I was getting one. I showed her a video of Kai Lenny (who is arguably the best in the world) and she said. "Is that it. Seriously is that it. I don't get it." As I say it's like watching old people have sex. It's better for the participants than those watching. From a riders perspective; it's more like powder skiing where you (try to) draw ever changing smooth lines.....you can get twice the speed of surfing on waves that are unrideable on a surfboard. It's not comparable to power surfing, nothing will. But it can put you out in the ****tiest tiny conditions with no one else out. I just love the break from the pack. I can assure you those two guys in the clip absolutely rip on short boards. It's not for everyone; I can understand the criticisms.

Ah this sounds all too familiar like when SUPs hit the surf.
Foiling looks kookier than SUPing. Pumping around and flapping ya arms like a beginner surfer hahaha
I assure you that the blokes I SUP with can SUP better than most surfers can surf.
Im cool with foiling though, it's the narrow minded short boarders who so no to SUPs but yes to foiling that confuse me.

Kite/SUP & Windsurfing all have their own foil section, I think its about time we also had one for the Surfers.

I think that's a great idea
But it's a bit of an old stereotype
To link surfers looking for foils

I'm not biased towards SUP or foils
I hate both equally
Worth noting I've hearly had my head taken off by an out of control SUP more than a foil.
SUPs carry on with the crap of surfing out of the way waves and then end up scrapping with everyone else.
Foils seem to know that they are dangerous and for the most part stay clear of everyone.

Enjoying the foil experience and the guys look like they are having loads of fun in that clip....but....I have to ask....no leashes?

One decent (unfortunate) connection with another ocean user and the council(s) will be clamping-in addition to whatever injuries occur.

Safety first.....
