Hello,
looking for the next trip suggestion.
Last few trips have been to Telos (TIL). Loved it, but more and more resorts are opening up there. It has lost a bit of its exclusivity and looking for new challenges anyway ...
Looking for:
- going as a group and being able to book it out
- uncrowded
- good waves, but not 6-8 foot square waves over 2 foot of water - too old for that!
- surf every day
- good food and accommodation
(Basically looking for something like Telos about 6 years ago!)
Money not a problem!
Would prefer a resort over a boat, but open to suggestions.
Thanks
If money is not a problem then head to Nihiwatu. Great place. Limited number of surfers allowed - they almost actively discourage them. Have a lovely left to yourselves all day long. You will not regret. Normally I would not respond to your request as its clear by putting it out online you will end self defeating what you and others are after. With Nihiwatu there is a limited number of surfers and its a well known place so no danger here

What Ted said. I know people that have been there and have raved about it. Unfortunately it is well out of my budget
Thanks Guys,
I have been thinking about Nihiwatu for a family trip in a couple of years time for a birthday with a "0" on the end of it!
After further research, and after many years of being adverse to a boat trip, we are thinking of a Maldives Southern Atolls charter.
Cheers
jjd,
Just wandering whether you stayed at Latitude resort Telos, owned by Aussies and great place to stay with group/ family.
Visisted a few years ago with a group of mates , lots of waves and opportunities for different conditions.
As an alternative , they are heading up to the Banyak islands for a change in a few weeks.
Any where with sunshine would be nice !
Cheers
Esoom. We were at the Lodge, not Lat Zero.
Kearnsy, have to be honest. Too gay to surf 8 foot Ments (as shown in your photos in your other thread).

Respect mate!
One of the reasons I suggested HT's or Lances is because there are other breaks accessible easily in the area with a range of ability requirements.
On the other hand - what about Nambia? Some pretty sick footage of that sand point coming out at the moment?
Apparently Skeleton bay is super heavy..breaks in super shallow water...namibia in general these days is also pretty hectic from the reports of mates that live there
The ments are super fun and not that heavy until it's a solid 8foot IMHO. Some pics from a trip in August last year.. oh the memories I want to go back......... Pics are at Scrarecrows and Lances Left
Have you considered Christmas Islands ( in the Pacific ) , basic accomodation but you can book it all out to yourself...cracking waves from all reports.
havent done it myself (yet).
south America has numerous surf areas with endless point breaks and offshores for most of the year.
Christmas Island in oz has some handy waves, exy trip though
Sri Lanka, Morocco, South of France.. Should have continue ??
anyone done Montebello's ??? Was almost booked a few years back with Thorpy (?) who was running the big yellow catamaran 'charter1' up there but some mates pulled out .... I was spewin - specially after seeing Vance Burrows photo's and comments about Barrow islands right handper a couple years beforehand. Untapped wave potential up there

Yea Coops..... I work on Barrow and this place is littered with waves! You will only be able to access the waves via boat though as it is a class A nature reserve , and pretty much "owned" by Chevron . I have also spotted other breaks on other islands from the plane but word is some areas are still radioactive on the surrounding islands.
If you had time , a good boat and a shark shield you would score big time.

Yeh, I spoke to a fella named Sandy years ago who used to run surfing and fishing charters through the monty's - can't remember the name of his boat though..... Anyway we spoke for ages about the amount of breaks up there - he was saying there's about 20/30 breaks within a day or so's motoring, all somewhat tide, wind and swell dependant ( expectedly ).
It would be real frontier surfing, if shark shield technology increased I'd be all over it !!!
funny I saw that though, I surf gnaraloo every year without even a thought of sharks.....strange how a preconception can influence your vibe about a place
