First paragraph
TWO missing fishermen off Leeman have been rescued after one was found by a Seven Network helicopter being circled by sharks.
The first man was spotted around 10am by the Seven News helicopter with reporter Grant Taylor on board.
In live radio interviews with 6PR and the ABC, Taylor described finding the naked man treading water off the coast of Leeman, 270km north of Perth.
From the air he said he could see a "massive hammerhead'' shark circling near the man.
This is the problem with that shark site. It's not all facts and you need facts to be able to make an informed decision about going out or not.
I went for a surf down at Brighton beach on Saturday morning.
We wonder why the sharks come in close.
We counted 17 boats all chumming up with oil slicks out from where we were.
You could smell the fishy smell from where we were, imagine what the sharks are thinking!! ![]()
What if they set up a program that chums areas attracting sharks to boats, then give the shark a non lethal electric shock. But big enough that it gives it a big shock.
Would that then start to teach sharks that boats, and people are NOT the easy target they appear to be?
I have no idea of how or if it would actually work! just thinking out loud
talk about chumming up in close !! ive noticed heaps of large fish carcus"s being left in kneedeep water at the hillarys boat ramp over the past few weekends .do fishermen want sharks in the harbour.![]()
