With Parko just getting another perfect heat it got me thinking about the only perfect 30
Surfing the Kirra Pro in 1996 he got three perfect 10's.
It seems to get forgotten when someone in the two wave era getting 20 points.
I hadnt seen the footage before but found it today.

Looks so relaxed... Comps these days so hectic to squeeze every manouvre possible out of each wave. Agree doggie not 10 in todays world but that was 17years ago!

I recon one was a ten, the really deep one! ![]()
What ever we think about the judging is irrelevent as some of the perfect 20 heats are debatable and its a different era.
Still think when the highlight the 20's this one has to be talked about and acknowledged more as the bar with three waves was higher
Love the Starsky and Hutch tunes. Yeah his board looks like a six eight. Debatable top score I give it a 26.78. Chris Bystrom is a name that I havnt heard in a long time. He is one of the best surf film makers ever in my humble opinion. I remember as a grom watching indo footage and giant pipe in his movies. One like blazing boards and the son of the last surf movie. Classic.
