Really wanted to go but missed out on the first lottery round sale for Japan residents my missus signed up for & apparently surfing/skating isn't going to be in the second round sale. Australian ticket sales only had it under absolute ripoff ticket bundles with hotels that make it like $1000US per event. The first round Japan tickets were like $40 per day. Fark'em I'll go surf somewhere nice instead...

I really don't see the point of the Olympics
Whats in the for host country and what's in it for Surfing. Not much in my opinion
If you look at countries like Greece after 2004 their economy has been crippled/bankrupted by the Olympic debt.
Brazils sporting sites for its Olympics are falling apart. Montreal took 30 years to pay off its Olympics
The whole movement is a farce.
And as for surfing being included.
The only people that may care is the one person winning gold.
Disposable entertainment.

The Olympics is pretty much the pinnacle of many sports watching the marathon never fails to blow me away the pace and times they run are just beyond comprehension.
Agree about surfing seems a waste out side of serious waves and the politics around the administration can be a farce but I am looking forward to them show casing Japan and watching the champions stand up.
