bought one years ago, it's insanely good (light, thin & grippy) but can't remember where I got it from. Has anyone seen something like this? And where can you get it from?

mate i am pretty sure that is an x-track i used to have one and loved it. not sure if they still make them.

Keep browsing the net Maybe email the pic to a few grip companies and find a similar product.

its a molded grip rather than laser cut
I used some on the front of a kite board rather than wax and pretty good. much better feel than the laser diamond ones.

I knew there was a reason that I haven't been to a shop for a long time. Thanks for the reminder.

Most go for about $30/$40 (cost price) or thrown in when you buy a new board if you go to a decent surf shop
But to buy for an individual purchase I agree is out of control.

What about fins?

I picked up a new board with FCS2 boxes over xmas and had to pick up a new set of fins to boot (all my other boards run futures)

$200-odd bucks for a set of quads!

I fail to see how something that's churned out en masse by a machine in china costs nearly one third the price of a custom board from a local shaper.

Some of these 'surf companies' are surely taking the pi$$

Got exactly what I was after from deckgrips.com in the end. Thin as, doesn't hold water, solid grip. Even surfed in boardies (rarity for tassie) with bare skin on the grip, didn't even notice it wasn't wax except for the slight cushioning it gave when paddling. Highly recommend

Nice looking grip there brother

i was talking to a bloke at the beach the other day who goes without wax. He sands the deck rough enough for grip. It slowly wears down and he simply hits again with the sander . Not sure how it goes on the knees.
