Geez mate that's like 24 hours ago,JJ smashed him in the first 10 minutes.
Parko is one guy I would like to see a title holder before he retires.

Dunno about that did you watch this year? Some good sized waves and barrels ridden, better than we get in Perth most of the time.

I agree SP. So much for the dream tour. I surfed that spot yrs ago and had some fun ones......we never got it perfect but pretty good for a few days. The only issue is the number of brazo's in the water

I like JJF - I really like the variation in his attack. He can do everything. I reckon he he is a world title certainty in the next few years.

Yeah well that says more about the surf in Perth than anything else

It's a joke.. It's supposed to be the dream tour and Da bong cancelled Jbay and still went to brazil, it was a financial decision IMO.

Sure it looks like a fun beachy on its day but world class?? Not even close.

@ ted yeah JJF is good, seems to have it together in any wave type and has all the tricks in the book.

How can one trick be scored so high!? IMO I don't think an aerial move can be counted as almost a 10. Surely linking turns and moves and barrels equate to more than flying and landing!

It's only allowed if Kelly does it

It was interesting watching the style everyone was surfing.

Its pretty evident that flippy floppy helicopter stuff will be more of the norm.
Even Josh Kerr is doing them.

It was the only downfall that joel had, I dont think he has them quite nailed yet to be able to use them in competition (Yes I have seen him do them in free surfing on the net)

Joel is a power surfer, big hacks and linked turns so I think the next couple rounds will suit him in fiji and tahiti.

BUT this JJ... he has all the moves, -airs and big wave tube ridding, and unfortunately I hate to say it, he WILL BE a world champion in the next few years.

We need julian wilson to start lifting his game for future world titles

Mike Fanning all the way!!!!

Events like Chopes, Pipe, The Eddie etc are worth watching live

This event is only ever worth watching the highlights, Billabong made a commercial decision to keep Brazil at the expense of J-Bay cause of the $$$ involved in sales to save their corporate ass

Have to agree JJF has a very good chance of being a World Champ, but geez, Parko & Taj deserve a world title before they retire...

JJF's backyard is sunset so he has the balls in big stuff,he is also a outstanding skateboarder and has been riding sunset bowl for years so he has all the air stuff down pat.He will be a world champ!
I've been a fan of TB but his chance has gone and JP,its this year of never imo.

The commentator was saying (I think it was Occy) that Parko is real hesitant about taking to the sky as he busted his foot bad a few years ago
Not sure if it was how he scalped his heel or another time
Probably a safe option as he finishes the event fit and number one in the ratings

I dont think they deserve one, they bloody need to win one while Slater is still there otherwise Fanning wins the world title race between that generation of surfers. Personally and I hope Im wrong JJF will win before Parko and Taj will, he is just that much better!!
