The part i liked is you can turn on the GPS and it will set to were ever you are. It then gives tides and best conditions for the waves in the area..

I gave up with my G-Shock telling me tides years ago..

Looking for a new tide watch though, i think the Nizon's look good also

I think being able to log in certain conditions for a particular place will help in getting certain spots wired.
When the conditions are looking good you should be all over it
All saved in a computerised memory bank in the Search GPS app
I think they are going to be really popular even with the $500 price tag

I have heard mixed reports from people. One was having trouble getting it to record waves, he also said it only started to record after 15 mtrs of travel.

Another really thought it was really cool to see how much ground he travelled paddling over a session. AT $500 I decided it was most of another new board so opted out, for now..

So all good. The app is working again. Only used the watch a few times when kiting rather than just pure surfing, plan to use it for SUP'ing and see how it goes, fruits are a little skewed when kiting as expected but still fun to see what distance is covered ect. They are cheaper if you look around, $400us on EBay or local surf shop gives 10% discount

I would not recommend any ripcurl watch, terrible after service, I have the ultimate titanium tide watch, if you want the battery changed you have to send it back to them at it takes about a month to get it back, every 2 years you'll need a new wrist band, I just sent it back to get a new one and been waiting for 7 weeks now for it to come back!

Agree with Marty. Especially regarding bands. El cheapos for me.

Surfstitch had the white model on special for $349 but sadly i tried to order one after three minutes and it was sold out..

The best thing about it is it tells the time all the rest seems like pretty useless information for people that get sucked in to marketing and the latest gimmicks,Id rather spend $500 on a new board

Who needs a watch when you can just check the sun and tell the time. What a waste of money
