Is there one in WA? If so who has it? I thought clearwater did but i'm not sure anymore.
I'm designing a board using Solidworks and want to find out if i can export it to a file type that could be read by a machine to get cut.
I'd like to finish and glass it myself.

sdr is on the goldy now with the machine
but i know he travels back weekly with a bunch of boards and does not charge shipping to the W.A crew(i am pretty sure). he is a proud W.A man and does want to look after the crew there. give him a call and im sure he will help you.

With solidworks design you'd be better to find a general CNC cutting house and cut from block EPS. That is unless you have real experience on creating tool paths and know an operator savvy enough with computers to know how to import the G Code into their machine.
Or the easier path would be to learn Aku shaper or Shape 3d (mostly Aku) and there are 100's of options to get it cut.
Your easiest option would be Shapers.com.au who have experience in shipping single profiled blanks.

The only shaper I ran across using full 3d software and cutting from blocks was Dale Chapman on the goldie. Most shapers use shape 3d or AKU (which have changed their pricing). Haven't used the new 2.0 of AKU but I preferred Shape 3d but it seems to be less used.
I'm sure lots of water has passed under the bridge, but Rusty used to have/use one in Osbourne Park. Don't know if it's still there.
Im a supervisor of an Engineering company in Perth. I also use Solid works and Camworks! Although we run machining centres and CNC lathes , Ive never actually concidered machining a blank.
Although a machining centre possibly wouldnt be the best choice of machine to machine a blank , Id be more than willing to help or have a look at any design or programming tool paths / tooling questions.
Interesting stuff , id be interested to hear how it all works out
