Going to be in Bali on Friday. Noticed there's going to be a fair bit of swell; wasn't bringing any boards as I wasn't anticipating any swell. Planning on heading over to Nusa Dua with friends in tow (keep them happy with stuff to do while I surf). Are there any decent places to hire boards there? If anyone also knows of a good sauna/massage place to keep the friends happy that'd be good. Sauna/massage details are critical to this topic because without such services my time in the water will likely be restricted. ![]()

look up www.Baliwaves.com
and ask Slim
cheers!
anyone happen to have a suggestion based on experience?
Hit up Geger Beach not far from Nusa Dua, your friends will have a great time swimming, eating and drinking ,great place to hang out,YOU can get a boat from the beach to the reef.Sorry can't help with the board hire.
There is a board hire place on the beach outside the grand Hyatt on the public road by mushroom rock. Don't expect anything fancy but it will do the job. They should be able to sort you out with boat too, if you want to head out to the main break.
Gee I don't think there is anything like that in Bali? You might struggle to find a board or massage/sauna. Better book a holiday somewhere else I recon. ![]()
Hi sparki,
Nusa Dua Beach Grill hire boards. It's at the southern end on the beach.
Also do a top feed. Pity they had to make concrete spillways out the front
Looks sizeable! Will definitely get the friends down to the Beach Grill! Sounds like the area caters to all. ![]()
From exprience what looks to be a managable 4 foot from the beach is a hall of a lot bigger when you get out there.....
Im with tux... last year looked solid 5 foot from shore.... got out there was makkking!! like 4 metre faces!!! another crew got dropped out there and got cleaned up by freak sets and we didnt see them again!! fun wave but at size you WILL take some on the head!!
Had breaky at Nusa Dua Beach Grill and got referred to a guy who had the boards required for hire. He said check around the corner (south) and take a swim out to the wave immediately in front. He said that the sets were probably in the 10 foot range. He wasn't far wrong. Would have been outgunned and out fitnessed. Didn't get to go out, but my friends enjoyed Nusa Dua and I enjoyed a stand up paddle around the bay with my gopro in hand. Thanks for the advise guys! After all that I didn't even get an east coast wave... ![]()
