Hi All,

I am an intermediate beginner (lol) surfing Fish Board (6'4"). I am moving to Perth in a week time, and I wonder what type of a second board I should bring with me, for the most common surf type in Perth (Cottesloe, City Beach, Scarborough).
Minimal? Long board?

Thanks!

Yes.

Marcino, plenty of people persist with fishes even when completely inappropriate. Mals will render some breaks off limits to you, but make you welcome at others where no-one on shortboards would bother. Up to you on what you ride and where. If you're happy with your fish, stick with it.

It'd be about right for you Rod, but I'm pretty sure it's gone now.

Don't matter about the board, MV. Make sure you bring some etiquette with you, and you'll get away with whatever suits you.

,, and good luck over summer.

I reckon for someone who can surf the rusty magic door or Neil, JS monsta X or local shapers Matt manners "keeper" model or katanas scud as already mentioned. Also SDR monkey chop. Perth has short dumpy waves so your board will need to be short with deep concaves for speed on take off. But don't forget if you own a car or even better a boat the options are endless.....

Keep in mind you might live in Perth, but not surf those 'breaks'. Many don't.

Why not wait until you get here, check the surf, have a look around, then decide
