pretty quiet day here , sick kids , sick wife , no surf , mucking around on line found these great pics of a surfing trip in Tassie ,Bruny Island and NZ , worth a look at latitudinaltales.co.uk/
Thanks Tas
Great Pics
I dont suppose there is any info on what sort of board the guy was carrying the B&W. Pretty wide tail which is something I am looking atm.
Cheers
No mate no info just a series of pics of a blokes surfing trip .
Loved the board you sent over to pup ,must have been hard to part with that one .
2nd photo is a spot called wedge, bloody big island right in front of it, but when swell is big enough i raps round the island to have a 6' wave break in 1' of water, you might remember the light house in the background for this !
Bet Somebody had their backside kicked over that one riverider , you would have to cry if you were the boat owner .
Where a bouts is the wedge ?
the builder/owner was on board, if happened during seatrials, he put a positive spin on it by saying it didn't sink and they were able to fix it, thing was it is aluminum so it ripped the guts out of the boat and that slowed it up, if it had gone right over the rock and back into the water it would have sunk like a rock.
by the way tassie had a surf with billboard and the whales morning, the whales have been hanging around the river for the last couple of weeks, got a compromising shot of billboard with my new $30 underwater camera, but managed to delete them when i got back, must read the instruction next time.
Haha , you need a license to run some of these new cameras . I leave it to the kids .
We had a whale and calf here for 2 days last week as well riverider . Our shop is across the road from the water and somehow the rest of the town saw them but I missed out . Also had a King Penguin here last week but I missed that as well .would be unreal to surf with the whales in the rivermouth .
2 completely different boards TAS.
The UF8 is only 7'10 and I had it shaped for 3 ft plus conditions
. Sort of a bigger wave board of sorts, pulled in nose etc I prefer a shorter board than 9ft in these conditions.
The Munro is a true longboard, it was just a bit low in volume as a longboard for me for that purpose (even though it would have more volume than the UF8). We were talking yesterday and i would get exactlythe same board again, just beefed up again as a longboard. Suits 1 ft to 6 ft but it is 9ft long.
