Gday viewers,
Has anyone taken their board out of a travel bag to find white stains in the glass,Ive heard they can be caused by certain types of plastics which line travel bags.i have them where my tie down straps are located after leaving my Billy Tolhurst board on the roof racks of my ute one rainy night and following day cloudy but humid.Anyway any one had the same and any ideas about getting rid of them ,ive tried fibreglass cutting compound and 1200 grit wet n dry although didnt go ballistic with it.if i could get a photo of it loaded I would,no luck there.Any advice welcome. Cheers

What brand of bag is it?

Cant say that Ive had that problem but when Ive done long trips (road or OS) I use a board sock with the cover.

This will help keep the cover off the board and protects the board even more than the bag its self.

Did any of the stain come out with the 1200?

Yes, I get them from a creatures of leasure board bag I have and yes, they are in the location where the straps go.

I'm not real fussed about it, but I do occasionally give the area a hit with 800 wet'n'dry to get rid of it.

Don't think I'll be purchasing another creatures bag, they're not real good in a lot of respects.

1200 wet n dry didnt do a hell of a lot but I didnt want to damage the final coat, the bag is a 'dangerous when wet' travel bag which is appropriate to the situation.looks like ill just have to bear with it as it doesnt affect anything but the aesthetics of the board, just a bummer as its such a nice looking stick which goes unreal as well.thanks for your replies

I never leave my board in the bag in the sun as it gets too hot...I put a thermometer in one day and it gets very hot...even when compared to a board in a sock...which was much cooler....But never had your prob.
