Mates planning a Maldives trip..however the sea plane to the Southern Atolls can only take 8' max boards.
Sunnova are now doing a two piece board but it comes in around $2,500 delivered, (with neat back pack to carry it)..
These look like the answer to longboard travel dramas? check it out..

Thats rubbish and Lacey knows it,In fact I'm a massive fan of Sunovas they are sexy boards.

Had a similar issue - had an 8ft purpose shaped bulked up with volume and width - went really well and I still surf it.

Go and see your shaper - tell him you need your favourite 9fter in an 8ft version and let him do the rest.

Love these problems = SURF TRIP

i mean the 2 piece ,bert has a 10"er as 2 piece , its not perfect but t.b.h i hardly noticed it
