Has been getting a few waves of late. I used to surf this place a lot growing up but never at anything this size One morning I was hungover and spewing up as I paddled out - some bloke paddled past me whacked me on the back and told me to get it all out. He then paddled over to this beautiful looking and peak and took off before ripping it apart. It was Martin Potter.

Nice wave & story...I used to see pro guys out a lot when I lived in the SW & spoke to them a bit. Or you might see them in town, checking the waves & stuff...but one day I thought was kinda funny. I'd been surfing a point for a couple of hours. I was sitting out the back with Tod Holland waiting for bombs & we were getting heaps of waves. It was a long paddle back out after each wave & I was pretty tired when I heard this great thrashing of water behind me. The noise surprised me & I had to turn around to see wtf it was...& here's Tom Carrol tearing his way out leaving a trail of froth behind him...He said g'day mate as he passed & I was like star shocked & muttered a g'day back while thinking Wow thats TC...I was 19yo

Yeah can remember going for an early at Sandshoes with a bad hangover...old mate in the water said to skull a good gob full of salt water...yep it did the trick...greatest technicolour yawn Still felt like sh!t though
