Hi guys

I'm heading over to Perth at the end of this week to compete in the barefoot waterskiing nationals, and I have a few spare days when I get over there, just hoping to get some local info or from anyone that has been over there. Looking for some where to be able to hire a board and get some nice beginner waves, I've only just started surfing so can't handle anything to big. I'm keen to travel down south and have a look at the breaks down there just not sure i will be able to handle them. Any info or help would be appreciated
Cheers guys

I would expect the city areas would have board hire options... Try google.

Down South, board hire might be harder... Google / contact surf shops at Margaret River...
Best chance of a beginner wave down south is probably the Bunker Bay area.

I'm pretty sure Yallingup would have rentals & the tourist bus stops there also...probably the best option coz its a nice fat simple wave for beginners...just sit on the end section & pick up the odd missed waves. Stay out of peoples way & don't ditch your board when people are coming at you, paddle into the whitewater, not the shoulder of the wave.

If you do hire your board from down south, as a beginner I would suggest heading to Bunker bay for a stress free surf. Yallingup and Rabbits will knock you for a six.
