Rip I take my hat off to those two guys who took him ashore with the shark following and circling around them it also rammed them FMD.

Yeah poor bugger was from Tugun.

Just saw this in the news. Had to check Breeze to make sure it wasn't a member.

I had a whale pop up less than 5m behind me at Burleigh on Friday. Got to say, outside of scaring the sheet outta me, I certainly spent the rest of my time in the water concerned about what else might be around.

Condolences to the surfer, his family and friends, and the witnesses and ambos.

Tragically a young 15 year old was attacked and died this afternoon at Minni Waters,rip young man.

Thanks, it raises some interesting issues
It might be similar to rouge crocs up north that get too familiar with people except the GW is not territorial like crocs or at least covers a ****te load more area.
Either way I hope the poor bugger recovers well

Yeah just got a couple of messages from the guys I was surfing there with this morning. It was one of those cloud covered days with the water milky clean, RIP absolutely tragic news a gent in his 60's.

More news is the man was in his 50's and it knocked a second surfer off his board after it attacked and killed the first surfer.

News is saying the gent was 46 and it was a 3 meter white with the bite from his hip to his knee thats a large bite,beaches closed from the border to Burleigh

Yeah looks to be a local real estate agent from around Mermaid.
There was surf cam footage of the attack on Stab's IG (which thankfully they've since taken down), horrific stuff. That shark was not f*****g around.
