Hey guys, I got the following info from my good friends (Simon Phin & partner Nicole) who are one of Australia's top tandem surf teams....
After some back and forth I can confirm that Tandem is on for Noosa this year. Fingers crossed we get the wonderful waves we have had in years past.
We would love to see you involved and participate. Tandem Surfing is for everyone and anyone. If your a selfish surfer you're going to struggle a little however, if you're one who likes to share the surf experience with another person then Tandem will open a whole pile of doors for you. The waves at Noosa are absolutely perfect for Tandem Surfing and this year we have an absolute perfect time-slot. Friday 4pm (as the lead into the the evening activities at the point) and Saturday 1pm ( as the curtain raiser for the Logger Pro). Dates - Fri 16 & Sat 17 March 2012.
Importantly you do NOT have to be a pro to do Tandem at Noosa, on the contrary, it is a wonderful way to be involved and keep the spirit of Aloha alive and well. Tandem is a core element of waterman competition in Hawaii - so being able to 'add this to your ocean bow' is something every surfer should strive for.
Global Surf Industries (GSI) are once again the Festival sponsors and their mantra, 'Life is better when you surf', couldn't be better expressed than through sharing surfing with someone else.
Haven't got a Tandem board? If you have a SUP that will help. GSI have a fantastic range of new SUP's that will do the job (we'll approach GSI IF you need help on the weekend - let me know).
