1. Gerry Lopez - one of his lightening bolt boards from his hay days of being the Pipeline Master - probably in Red
2. Bob - just to see what all the fuss is about ![]()
3. George Greenough Concave Chine Hull - built these days by MC in Byron - or one of his flexible fiberglass spoon kneeboards.....anything would do from GG
I almost brought one in Byron in Nov and have regretted it ever since.
4. A Jim Banks 7'2" Bali gun (and the balls to ride it in the waves it was built for)
5. a Josh Dowling custom right here right now!

Sort of inline with the topic
I have a McTav 9' 1" Fireball EVO II and love it but would like to have a board to go with my other 4 I would like to ride most.
So any suggestions for 4 boards that are as good or better than my EVOII but catch waves a little easier please?
Thanks
Jen Hawkins

I seriously can't get my arse off the 9'6 Occasional Pin. It surf's everything, and surfs it all really well. *
* It has a subtle Vee right through it, and obct would tell you to steer clear of Vee, go for concave, and I agree. But the Vee is awesome on this beast. One added benefit is soft landings when paddling up and over a wave... soft landing on the other side... Such a comfy board to paddle and surf... I noted to myself that I must measure the rocker and template, and rails... just in case I ever lose this piece of art! Best board I have ever owned. 'Till-death-do-us-part.
Here's my pics, not in any order, But the first 2 would be at top of the list.
1. An 8'6" Brewer ![]()
2. A Maurice Cole "Flex tail" ( I think it was called a Bonzer ?) ![]()
3. A Lopez "Pipe" single fin
4. A Late 80's - Early 90's Wayne Lynch Gun.
5. A Greg Noll solid log
6. Anything Rawson
7. A DHD 7'0" Margo Model ( Mabee later this year )
8. My Current JS 427 KW
9. My Old 9'1" HP Noosa Longboard
10. Anything Slater Shapes in the future if and when he decides to stop the tour.
I know it was only 5 but some of us Qlders cant count either. ![]()
Probably don't know enough to offer too much intelligent comment ...but hey that never stopped me before in other areas of my life......![]()
