Seriously contemplating getting some Wassabi adaptors to run Wills curves though.

Only the original Webber curves by Greg. Webber CRVs. They were amazing fins in the right board. Had an upright paddle shaped template. Reckon those ones from Will could be lots of fun.

Yeah really tempted other than being futures boxed.

Still nothing the Wasabi adaptors can't fix, I would be very upset if they didn't go too good after forking out a whole lot of coin though.

Super intrigued by the Chubbies as well, closest I have seen to them is Shane Horans EZ3 fins.

Are Wasabi fin adaptors available from any retailers in Australia? If so...link please.

Not that I'm aware of.

We're just accessorising a beautiful thing, nothing kinky bout that.

BTW Cuttlefish what colour fins would you recommend for a Yellow Jerry Lopez
Something fishy. I was thinking a nice blue, but teal appeals. Personally I think red would look kinky.

I've got black C-drives fronts and Scarfini med blue rears in mine atm but the board looked pretty good with yellow PC core Stretch FCS 1s.

On second thoughts just running it finless like Derek Hynd is all the rage. You could try that in any of your boards. Takes the challenge level to 11.

Took my 7'0 out at the local in 3' mushy and it refused to surf as advertised What's with that?

The salesman on the interweb with the dreddies showed a board that carved, sliced and diced, and gave you a level 10 coolness factor?

Seriously though, it went okish, but very hard to turn and a lot less drive than the Torq 6'10?

Also found with the fat nose that the front rail easily caught on just about every wave, unless you are right at the back and driving off the back foot. But then the skinny bum sinks and depowers.

Still it was only 3' mush burgers, on a couple of bigger ones with a bit more punch she did come alive but was still a dog to turn. Maybe I had it over finned running Futures Controller quads? This set has a much bigger rear fin than the Machado Quad, hence the stiffness.

I'll give it a crack with the large twins and double TMF2 Trailers to see if that changes things up a bit.

First impressions though is that the Webber Double Diamond is still ranked top at 9/10, followed by the Torq Mod Fish 6'10 at 8/10, and so far the SSB is only on a 6/10 (although I can feel the potential in her to do much better if finned correctly).

Here's a thought.

Refoil my large flex tip twins into a hybrid C-Drive / S-Wing design.

The strong base for drive and the elongated tail / tip for flex torsion and release?

Pair them up with a good set of rear quads for some added drive should equate to nice and loose but still with good hold and drive.

Well I did this to my flex tip twins.

What the ? It works, just as much drive but looser in pivot and release.

Speed seems better as well, I profiled in a foil that gives lift, seems to want to accelerate the board in straight line and turns.

To compensate for reduced surface area I'm running 2 x MF2 nubsters in rear quad slots. So basically back to same surface are but spread between front and back fins.

Looking like my go to setup. Fast, drivey and great pivot.

And for bigger conditions can always throw in the TMF1 in the thruster slot.

So kind of reverse bonza, without fin cant.

Edit- fitted in 6'10 Torq

"It paddles like a longboard surfs like a shortboard" - Not true !! will paddle better than a short board but only a longboard paddles like a longboard.

"It handles waves from fat mushy beach breaks to steep critical reef breaks" - not true either !! Particularly if you don't spend much time in the water. If it goes well in mushy beachies, it will be a handful for a weekend warrior on a steep and critical takeoff.

Agreed!

Just re read my post and it may have been a bit harsh. I wasn't having a go at the board just commenting on the statements. Board is probably great for the right condition's. I'm working on a 2 board quiver. Similar shapes but 1 for small and weak waves and 1 for larger steeper waves. Same length and plan shape, just playing around with rocker and rails. I have found as I get older (and heavier) I need a couple of boards to choose from to maximise conditions whereas when I was young and fit, 1 board was all I needed.

Throw in a longboard as well and you have everything covered.
