I try to watch/listen to as many information sources as possible. I may not agree with everything I hear, but I think its better than imposing limits. Even if you dislike someone for whatever reason, that person could be privy to unique information or ideas you have not yet been exposed.

A lot of people I considered to be far left have been copping crap for stepping out of line lately, the exceedingly narrower narratives, I think we need to be careful not to allow our choice of paths in respect to information to become too narrow. The more information we have the better & let us choose, let us make our own judgements for our thoughts & opinions.

I guess I read about 8 more resent ones from the last 3 weeks & a Wiki which ran through a timeline of Swedens C19 events.

I will look into it more as its brought up time & time again....Ok so a quick summary.

* Sweden was one of the earlier countries effected at a time when PPE was in short supply due to China sourcing PPE from arround the world which left them in short supply. Like Australia & other countries experienced. Lead to the creation of the home made masks that are still popular today & have become a fashion statement for some.

* Sweden subsequently experienced a high fatality rate due to inadequate PPE & safety precautions for the elderly in aged care due to PPE shortages & staff shortages.

*Sweden hit its high fatality rate at the start of June & has dropped significantly since. I would say this is due to those that are most at risk being exposed to the virus & also the change of season into summer. As the virus has been shown to be susceptible to UV light, so becoming less transmittable from surface transmission.

If we had focussed on those at risk, keeping everyone employed, not over reacting we could have provided first class care..& for how many years, now that is a calculation that needs to be made...I'm guessing a lot less than it will take to pay off the current Australian debt.

I guess I read about 8 more resent ones from the last 3 weeks & a Wiki which ran through a timeline of Swedens C19 events.

I will look into it more as its brought up time & time again....Ok so a quick summary.

* Sweden was one of the earlier countries effected at a time when PPE was in short supply due to China sourcing PPE from arround the world which left them in short supply. Like Australia & other countries experienced. Lead to the creation of the home made masks that are still popular today & have become a fashion statement for some.

* Sweden subsequently experienced a high fatality rate due to inadequate PPE & safety precautions for the elderly in aged care due to PPE shortages & staff shortages.

*Sweden hit its high fatality rate at the start of June & has dropped significantly since. I would say this is due to those that are most at risk being exposed to the virus & also the change of season into summer. As the virus has been shown to be susceptible to UV light, so becoming less transmittable from surface transmission.

My take is its far too early to compare Sweden with Australia when Sweden has a dropping fatality rate, Australia has an increasing one & Sweden is not experiencing the high number of mental health issues that Australia is experiencing. And yes I think we should be measuring by fatality, not "cases", but this adds the challenge of ideniting C19 mental health fatalities.

Personally I think it will come down to short term vs long term effects between the strategies deployed.

So in affect you are saying their strategy failed. so the difference in the fact they have 4x more deaths than an Australian Flu season is we put strategies in play that have worked. btw In our first lockdown In QLD we didn't have enough PPE another fact.

They have 5 x the population & the lockdown in Oz has failed, not to mention the effect on mental health, job loss & the economy.

In effect I clearly stated its too early to compare to Oz yet alone anywhere else that has stats even less favourable to compare.

In your first lockdown the virus was far from prevelent in the community...but yes the world faced a PPE shortage.
