I'm currently running a 10 inch Wizz on my single fin modern log,I've been wondering what difference a 9 1/2 or 9 inch.
The board goes well currently but what if is the question?

Got this from SLIDE Magazine....

Here is a fine example of the Kevin Connelly noserider fin design. This one is 10.5" and sits way way back on a custom KC 9'8" Noosa II, one of the most mindblowing noserider models ever made. Kevin cut this fin out and foiled it himself. Rumor has it @jjwesselsmeanderingincashmir is a disciple of this magic fin design, too. Magic Feet Monday. @kevinconnelly

i've been riding mal/logs for years. just put any 10" fin some where in the box and forget about it.

Smaller fin, should make it easier to turn, assuming it is the same template just smaller then the base would be a bit narrower so I'd guess you'd lose a pinch of drive but you could probably turn it harder so it would get on a rail earlier and that is better anyway.

You'll probably lose a bit of hold, as it will be shorter in height but if your not hanging them, it won't matter.

Best way to find out is to buy one and try it.

Usual fin disclaimer, what works for me, probably won't work for you. What works in one board probably won't work in another.

went out at the alley late. lots of good log surfer, lots of logs, lots of d fins. might have to look into that fin mac. reckon they would hold the board steadier. any thoughts.


mac, i don't know why you want your log mact thing to turn- you have other boards to do that- well i assuming you haven't sold them

Mate I guess I enjoy some power steering can you believe I'm not interested in any other boards,its the last thing on my mind at the moment

I have ridden a few pivot fins lately, I quite like them. I rode a 10'4 with one, it turned better than my 9'2 all due to the fin!

I like it because although less drive on the turns, I don't get bounced off on real drawn out turns. I simply don't weigh enough to get the rail in!

Maybe living in the city away from the surf this year will help me fatten up a bit. Hopefully not!
