Hey everyone,
I'm planning a few days surfing next
month and I'm looking for suggestions. I ride a longboard and I want to get on a plane and head somewhere up the east cost (I'm from Vic).
I'm not looking for anyone's secret spots, just some decent longboard breaks that won't be crazy packed. Noosa, Crescent Head, Byron etc all appear to get way too crowded when there's a swell.
I've never surfed in Oz outside Victoria so any local knowledge would be much appreciated.
Thanks a lot.
C
Regardless of how busy they are, I'd be ticking them off my list, they're busy for a reason.
I'm guessing you'll be hiring a car? Where will you fly into - Syd, Bris or GC? How long have you set aside?
If you don't want crowds it's a case of just driving the coast, plenty of spots between Newcastle & Byron. Look at a map and aim for the points or any place that ends in 'Head' would be a good place to start.

Maybe you're right, about ticking them off. I'm pretty keen to check out Crescent Head in particular.
I'm planning on only five days, so don't want to spend too much time travelling around. I can fly into anywhere, haven't decided yet. And I will be hiring a car.
