Tell us a story!
I fell out of love with the water, and surf... Crowds slowly got to me... Saw one or two, too many angry people in the water... Timed with spending more time with my son, and he wanted to learn golf... So "fark-me", I'm off playing loads of golf... Really really enjoyed it actually. Got my handicap down to 19, and I know I can go to like 15...
But... now I'm missing the water, a lot! ... It was fun to have a break, and taste other menu's (so to speak!)...
But I think I'm coming home now... Coming home to the water... Like when Chewie and Han re-found their Millennium Falcon... It's good to be back!
What does the future hold?... I can't be certain, but I love the salt water! ... I really loved honing my golf skills, but there was a little nagging thing... it felt like something was missing... Salt Water was the missing piece.

And, I'm humbled that my old "where did you surf today" thread gained such traction! ... Simple question, just generates so much fun, and stoke! Keep it up guys!

I dropped surfing about 25 years ago for a couple of years due to starting a family saving for first home but found I also was missing something and that was surfing.
Only a few months ago I got frustrated with the devil wind week in week out so took up golf again as much as I disliked the game after years of enjoyment i found self enforced pressure to improve did my head in and gave up.
Geez you know whenever I post where we've surfed I think of the 'gromdo ....
I lost surfing once , then I found it stashed away right in front of me under a pile of life stuff ....
Love the 'garden brotherhood & pistoling one off a lip each day I'm out ....
I love seeing chicks with those new wetties ....
and I love roadtrips ....![]()
The golf or surfing relationship don't need to end mate. I've played golf surfed and spent hours and hours with my son.
Its about balance and management of your time.
greg Norman & Kelly slater beleive golf and surfing go hand in hand.
i agree. ![]()
You've reminded me, not that I had forgotten. Just have not been drunk enough
to write up a surfing yarn for the shortboard dept I said I'd do 2 weeks ago...but yeah man, the where did you surf thread is one of my fave threads in the greenroom ![]()
Vic's best days of the year are coming, so damn good time to get back into it, to be sure, to be sure. Funny enough I've been meaning to get back into golf, have been looking out for a decent second hand set my size.
Will copy paste a yarn over here when I get in the mood to type 2500 words or so, I have some stories ![]()
