i don't think i suffer from surfers ear (no pain) after surfing or swimming laps.
I'm suffering from inner ear problems like water trapped and dizziness .
too the point it affects my balance after swimming even surfing sometimes, walking from the pool
or up the beach feels like I'm drunk,sort of a vertigo thing.
I'm capable of surfing the net for products but would appreciate any advice feedback products or tips.
My tip is to get it checked out by a specialist. I had the same thing and had my ear drilled out about 6 years ago.

May not be surfers ear but better to be sure, it could even be something else.
Nothing wrong with selective hearing Cobra - I have it as well. It's an amazing skill to develop and is underrated

Cobra brother in law going through it now was told no surf for 6 mths he's devastated as he wakes up to the sight of the ocean daily.
Couple weeks ago I got tossed around off a wave,nothing major and got water in my ear. Was so dizzy was holding onto my board for dear life as the waves kept on coming in. Scared the hell out of me. Was wondering how something so little could make me feel so dizzy.
I've been surfing for a whole of about 2 years... OK, tyring to surf.
Never had a problem with my ears and the water (have a swimming pool at home). For about the past 8 months, I dunk my head in water, and I get water in my ears that I just can't get out. Drove me insane. Granted, I didn't/don't suffer for dizziness when this happens.
Doesn't matter if it's surfing or diving into the pool.
Nonetheless, I popped into the chemist and grabbed a set of Doc's Proplugs. The 'fenestrated' ones (they have a small hole in them).
They work a treat... except for the few occasoins that I've lost one... and always the right ear.
But yeah, I need to go chat to the doc about it.
It could be the start of surfers ear. The bone grows and narrows the canal so water doesn't get out. My left ear - the one exposed to our southerly winds - has got some bony growth and I get similar symptoms occassionally. The doctor said to wear plugs or a hood and expect a drilling one day. Hearing is still fine though.
Go to a doctor and find out for sure.

Could be good for when someone yells, "your in my zone" 
Every time I go on a surf trip to tropical water my right ear blocks up by the 3rd day,hearing is screwed on that side till I get home and water blast them with a syringe then chuppa chup stick through baby bottle nipple attached to vacuum cleaner for the final clear out.I can hear again.happy days

Yeah bro get it checked by a Doctor that Surfs..I had some numpty tell me I need to see a specialist and then I went to see a Doc that I surf with and he said "Nah just use plugs and you'll be fine...probably"...that was two years ago and I had 75-80% closure in one ear and 90% plus in the other...it hasn't got any worse since I started usuing the plugs/blue tac...I use the surf ears 2.0 and that aqua ear stuff...surf ears and Blue tac are way better than Doc's Pro Plugs IMO...depend on how much you can afford

Have you had your ears checked yet?
I've been wearing ear plugs for the last 6 or so months due to water getting trapped in my ear.
Was worried I'd developed some form of Surfers Ear, despite not being a likely candidate....
Anyway, rocked into the Doc's office the other day to get some new meds... Asked her to check my ears for me. She asked why. I told her....
Her immediate call was 'wax', before she even reached for her otoscope.
I said I'm always jamming a q-tip in there, and never had a problem.
She said something about it being impacted in there.
She took a squiz. Yep, wax.
Gave me some drops to soften the wax. Went in today, and she got in there with a mini gerni.
All good now. Dived in the pool a thousand times this arvo, once I put my beer down, with no issues (yesterday my ears would've been full of water on the first dive).
She showed me the crap that came out. I was surprised there was even room for water. Curiously, hearing was only ever an issue when there was water in there....
Long story short - it might just be wax.
