I'm with Lacey you get what you pay for END OF STORY
I was just asking boys....I wont buy it don't want to upset the crew. SP gave me a hot tip as well..
Separately, in regard to The Scorpion (and similar styles) Surfboard... The Wide Point is extremely forward. I think this creates confusion when riding it. It's a Longboard Tail Template, and a Longboard Nose... They look cool, but I think they are "out of balance"... In a way.
Although the longer Scorpion models... around 7'6 to 8'0 or so... they look more balanced.
Take a 6'0 Scorpion, turn it around, and you sort of have the McCoy Lazer Zap!
Or Nugget... (In template anyway... - not rocker!)
The Sumo is less extreme, and I think it would also perform better. http://www.mctavish.com.au/surfboards-buy/midlength/sumo
Grom you are deluded. The scorpion is far from out of balance,it is a great board to ride. You rode a scorpion when to come to this decision? And you rode a sumo when to come to your opinion that it is a better plan.shape. Far out not half biased.
The scorpion and sumo.would be two boards I would love to own.
Chrispy, one of the guys in Maldives had a 6'6 Scorp, and it didn't go too well over there. The guy said he's ridden in a variety of conditions, and The Maldives was the boards last chance to impress...!
I'm just highlighting that The Scorp, and The Nugget are mildly extreme boards, in template terms... Foam up front, or Foam down back! ![]()
Also, I think the longer versions would be more user friendly... I agree, I would like a Scorpion, but at 8'0.
How funny is that Nugget Photo above? Scorpion in Reverse! ![]()
Looks sweet!

This one is 8'0... This would be nice...
(I just have reservations about these boards in the 6 foot range, and sub 6 foot range....)

Agreed.
Little wide boards are so much fun.....
I guess like all things its a personal preference. I ride mtn bikes and everyone has opinions on what they think is good/bad. Thats what makes it interesting.

True, but unlike grom man you do not go on one opinion only. Then tell peeps that another brand is better from a picture and a blurb from a website.
