Most of the old cudgers in here have been there and down that. But you have yet to experience this.

beg to differ ..its ridiculously crowded for short boarders plus the big days seem to be fewer in between ... for an inland surfer long boarding is the way to go plus you need a lot of surf fitness/ water time for short boarding ..... here on the GC where its mostly small ... more fun on a long board the last few days ...nothing like trimming on a clean face up on the nose .
Beg to differ. Been get heaps in that 6.6. Doesn't have to be big 2 to 3 is ample.

Just do what makes you happy.
Everyone of of us is an individual and if a longboard, SUP or shortboard is your thing, don't be guided by others, just follow your own path IMHO.
I ride em all depending on how I feel and what I think will give me the biggest smile on any given day; each to their own and don't follow anyone's path but your own.
