Hi,
My daughter is just starting out on her own SUP, she's 6 and can swim, however after seeing her on the weekend in the river we have decided she needs a leg rope for when she falls off so she can get back to her board quickly etc. Can anyone suggest brands, lengths etc that would be suitable for her.
Thanks

Just a coil leg rope will do the trick for her .
i use the Naish ones but anything will do .
maybe a alana paddle too .

Hey Kieran, I went for one of these for my 6-year old daughter. It is small enough to fit around her ankle without slipping off like a leggie would and it is has a rail-saver and swivels at both ends.

Thanks guys, does that bodyboard wrist one have enough length so that it doesnt feel like it will be tugging on her leg whilst standing?

It is a little tight but not too bad and it will stretch over time. My daughter paddles a 10'6" Starboard Astro Jr. so would probably stretch it futrher than your daughter would on the Keiki and I haven't heard her whinge about it being tight. Trust me I would hear her whinging if it was an issue.

I know it is not a really an issue for you, as you are not going to look away from a 6 year old on a SUP, but I would like to remind people reading this post that leashes should never be used on rivers. So many people drowned on SUP under the eyes of relatives because their leash got stuck in some submerged branch...

If I were you, I guess I would have make the ankle strap barely hold to the cord by some velcro or anything that would release on any abnormal traction...
