Howdy.

Im a kiter not a SUP'er.
My girlfriend is about to complete her course to become a yoga instructor, and I'm thinking of surprising her with a gift of a new stand up paddle.
Think she will love it and do her yoga thing on it.

So what does she need?
What's best?

She is a very competent surfer so will that help determine what board to get her?

Are there yoga specific boards??

Appreciate any help.

Normally the yoga boards are pretty big but that won't work particularly well for the surf side of equation. Maybe something like the 8'10 Naish Alana would be good compromise.

No such thing as good for yoga and surfing. Given that she already surfs I'd say lean more towards a larger beginner surfing oriented board and keep the yoga on dry land.

Deff looking for a yoga specific board.

If she wants to surf she'll get her proper board.

Just didn't know if there are learner SUP boards or if having surf skills can allow you to have a smaller board or something.

Ha ha, yeah I say that too, then grab the SUP 9 times out of 10 for a surf. Trust the guys above, she will venture in to the surf with it and then......BAM....Addicted!
But being a competent surfer and the size of a sup board for yoga is probably not relevant. Bit like saying I'm a competent kiter so I can poleboard. You'd probably take her weight into account and google yoga sup and find a link something like: www.the-house.com/learn/best-sup-yoga-stand-up-paddle-boards/

Or, wait for someone who knows something about yoga SUPping to give a definitive answer.

Good luck.
