G day all.
Was wondering if anyone has some info on where to go for a sup holiday in Fiji .
Not looking for massive swell as im not that good, just croozy stuff .
All advice is much appreciated thanks .
Fiji Beach House first pick half way down Coral Coast or Plantation Island is close to major breaks at Nadi end . Both well priced .
Fiji Hideaway is another good family orientated Resort that has a reef break right out the front. It's a mid to high tide break though so unless you want to get scrapped off the coral then get some advice off the locals beforehand.
Is there any where i can hire a SUP or surfboard in Fiji, i'm staying on the Coral coast. would be keen to hit up some of the break mentioned above.
thanks
The Beachouse has loads of Sups the with surf straight out front (it's just down the road from the Warwick) It's about the middle of the Coral Coast.
This is a Video of the beachouse , I'm off there again in Jan with the family.
The standard of board hire available in Fiji is average at best. The Beach House is def. the pick on the Coral Coast -9229 500
You will need to get out before the trades hit and within 2 hours of high tide.
They also organise down wind runs at high tide if you are experienced.
If you are after a family fun wave there is a mellow reef out the front of the Inter Continental at Natadola Bay which works in big swells. Natadola would have to rate as one of the prettiest beaches in Fiji and it is off shore in the trade winds. You can hire aboard from the Inter Con and put in a few holes at their championship golf course if the waves are not on!
Howdy
there is a holiday rental house just up the Road from Hideaway rights at Maui bay on the Coral Coast, Its called Taylor Ridge and you can find it on Air BNB etc.. There is a Naish 14 footer and a starboard 7'11 by 29.5 brushed carbon and Ke Nalu paddles all there, Guests are welcome to use the boards, Its a good option if your keen for a bit of supping whilst in Fiji.
Its a couple hundred meters from the Maui Bay pier, On foot if your prepared to take the goat track shortcut down the hill its a 5 minute walk or 10 min walk by the road. You can kite in the lagoon by the pier at half tide or higher also and its a fun paddle up the inside of the reef to the Naviti rights.
Hey Mate
Just come back from Fiji on Monday/Tuesday. Stayed at Naviti which was nice. Didn't take gear as it was a family holiday. The resort had boards which were pretty ordinary which is what I expected. Got into trouble by the resort staff for paddling out to the outer reef to have a look at the surf. Didn't quite get there before the rescue boat arrived to tell me to get back. The outer reef looked as if it had promise. Couple of days later only half way out and on another shallow reef the fun police came out and told us to get in as we were on a 1-1 1/2 foot waves.
I asked the same question about Fiji before I went and the beach house was mentioned by someone then. Bit of Googling pre me going there, also found something mentioned about Sigatoka river mouth/sand dunes as a surf spot too. Didn't get to either so no feed back on these
Hope you get some waves and have a good one
