Looking at getting g a hypernut in the next few weeks. B4 I get one I just want to find out if any1 can say what they surf like and what they like in choppy conditions and overhead?

Demo's in QLD this weekend . I surfed the 8'6 last demo day in 4' clean beaches I do prefer thrusters but did find it responsive and very fast. tricky punching through waves maybe the squared nose ? Very well built super light but personally prefer a surf outline as I found it skatie if that makes sense could see it working on a beach break and would like to have one for those smaller days I feel young enough to rip .was very very stable as you can imagine with the outline and did make sections easy with the speed it generated sorry for the vague review I am **** at it but just thought I would give my two bobs worth . All in all I like them and if I had the money would have one in the quiver

I had one for a while, Im a bigger lad and I loved the stability and the speed, oh the speed was out of this world good. I didnt like its inability to set a rail when it got bigger than shoulder high. If I cant set a rail at my weight then normal people that need to eat sandwiches are going to struggle. So is it a one board quiver...No absolutely not, if you can afford a small wave board and then a board for when it was above shoulder high then get one.

Skatie as mentioned by Krist is a good description of these boards.

Skatie is not a good match for your description of 'bigger surf' I believe.

The Waves at my home breaks are most of the time the in the 4-5'+ size, on occasion they are in the 2-3' range.

Fortunately I have a 7'2" Hypernut in my quiver and I really enjoy the skatie and acceleration of this board only on the smaller rare days.

Most the time I am riding an 8'5 and above with narrower tails that suits bigger waves better.

First day on the Hypernut when Starboard came down for a brief visit, riding the 7'4 at my home beach back in 2015.

Hi, i had the 7.2 HN my day to day board is the Airborne 7.10, the good for the HN is the speed compared with the AB. The HN when you take wave is really fast, but is take time to control the speed. The bad on choppy conditions is the stability is a issue. But once you find how to handle is a good board to have.

Thanks. I have a 31.5 width airborn at the moment and want to lose some width. So was thinking of selling it to go with the hypernut.

See if you can demo a speed.I had the HN and a speed out in clean one mtr waves to demo both once.I purchased the speed. Good luck
