WINDSURFNSNOW MIDDLE HARBOUR SKIFF CLUB TWILIGHT SERIES.
We're happy to announce that in conjunction with Middle Harbour 16' Skiff Club we are running a social twilight series beginning on the 17th March.
The iconic club will be the venue for 2 events in March before daylight savings comes to an end.
The series is focused on participation and will be suitable for the racer and fun paddler alike. With staggered starts we're catering for all levels of SUP as well as OC1, kayaks and skis. Come along and take an evening cruise and take in one of Australia's best waterways with like minded paddlers.
The focus is on fun and we'd love everyone to hang around after, use their free drink and as a result support the skiff club.
At the moment the plan is to extend the series to Saturday afternoons before returning once again to Friday evenings in Spring.
With support from FANATIC, NAISH, NSP, ONE and STARBOARD, there'll be demos across the series as well as some fun random prizes.
This is a great opportunity to come along and have a fun paddle and then mix socially with other like minded people.
Follow the event page at Wind Surf N Snow to keep up to date on updates!
There seems to be lots of interest around this series with a huge social focus so if you've got any further questions PM me or ring Sam at Wind surf N Snow at Long Reef. If you're interested in a demo board maybe give them a ring early so that they can possibly organise one from a supplier or allocate one of theirs.
For the crew already in the city, you might be able to drop your board with the shop or if you're at Thursday training leave it with sam. I might be able to get them there on the trailer
Conditions look interesting for Friday evening. Please remember that you need a life jacket and leggie to race.
Sam will have some spares there as well as the opportunity to purchase if required.
5:30 rego for a 6pm start
Hi All,
Due to the extreme weather conditions that are now predicted on all weather models, we are postponing tomorrow's Wind Surf N Snow Middle Harbour 16 Foot Skiff Paddle series until next week. With a near 30 knot Southerly predicted we are taking the safe option.
PM me for an alternative for competent rough water paddlers.
Regards
John Engel

It's looking good for a DW run.
Friday night's downwinder was a lot of fun with 30 crew getting away from work early, enjoying a 25 knot Southerly followed by beers at the finish supplied by Sam from WindSurfNsnow.
The planned race for last Friday night has now been rescheduled for this week Friday 24th.
If we can get 30 to a downwinder we should be able to fill the skiffie bar afterwards for dinner and drinks this week.
We are all go for tomorrow evening. Conditions are looking good. 6pm start and all types of paddle craft are welcome.
A great event last night with 25 paddlers starting. While the event was aimed at the beginning racers through to the experienced, we had nearly all of Sydney's fastest paddlers in attendance.
The feedback was exceptionsl and everyone hung around for drinks late into the night.
Its on sgain this Friday night and once again we will have staggered starts based on ability with the aim of everyone, no matter what ability being able to race together. ((Sorry about the side on shots. They won't load correctly from my phone)
Sam
Where is the picture of the bride to be with her paddlers
Great night lets hope this friday is as good
I decided not to post her pic as I didn't have permission. Don't know that she'd want her photo with Ugly Phil all over social media either.
Cheers

We are on again this Friday evening and are planning for a 6pm start.
This week, your $10 entry will include a post race drink at the bar and BBQ. Come and finish the week on the upper deck of the club overlooking Middle Harbour.
Life jackets and legropes must must be worn.

That must be one dangerous upper deck.
Nozza
No worse than Black Rock used to be in the bad old days on a thursday night.
Maybe the Melbourne Guys could do a road trip up some time in the winter
We could put on a bit of a special event
You and Helmy can wear 2 leg ropes and attach them to the bar.
Had Keef over last night for dinner he says you are helping take his boat to melbourne.
Good Luck with that one

The Windsurfnsnow Twilight Series returns next Saturday at Middle Harbour 16 Foot Skiff Club. Come along, race and stay for the post race BBQ and refreshments.
Looks like we've got a crew of new female paddlers turning up to race this weekend. It's a great opportunity to try racing on an easy course that isn't too long. Having said that, James Casey is paddling from Mona Vale and using the race as his last 5km. That'sabout a 30km ocean paddle
So if you know anyone who'd like to try racing this event is perfect for you.
BRIDGEY'S EARTHMOVING PRIZE.
At this Saturday's Windsurfnsnow Middle Harbour 16 Foot skiff Club Twilight Series Race, Adam Bridgewater has kindly donated an annual membership to the skiff club.
This means that one lucky paddler will have 12 months of free racing. Your entry will be covered for the year's twilight series as well as the winter series. That's a saving of $10 a race and $200 a year.
In addition, their entry to the Inter club challenge planned for September will also be free. A $40 saving.
Being a member you'll also be entitled to a 10% discount on all food and drinks. That's on top of the generous donations the club has made at the last two races.
In order to attract paddlers to the club Hugh, Pete,Sam and I have a couple of special offshore downwinders planned using the big Rescue boat that the club owns. These offshore paddles will only be available to MH 16 Foot Skiff club members so this lucky paddler will be eligible to join in these epic events.
In order for the club to support our racing we're encouraging everyone to join up this week. As you can see the membership is extremely worthwhile and being members we'll have access to rescue boats and access to easily facilitated race organsation right across the year. If you like this format of racing please support the club so that they can continue to support our racing.
Thanks Adam for your generous donation.

Looking Good on saturday for a North east course to a mark up near grotto and nice run back down middle harbour.
Any one coming along to compete don't forget mandatory life vest.
Sorry but it is all about insurance and the club letting us run events.
As in previous post by John
It is $10 on the day to enter limited to 3 races, or better still join the club $100 gets you all of the racing for the next 12 months which will be minimum
1 race per month over winter and when daylight savings comes back it should be every friday night for most of the summer.
Throw in a couple of epic boat trip downwinders and a special event or 2.
That translates to about 1,000,000 paddle strokes for the year so think how good you will be this time next year, Big James Casey better watch out. 30 Kilometre paddle will be for wimps.
And thats not all you get 10% off all food and drinks bought using a club card, I took 3 friends out to dinner last week and we saved $100 dollars off our bill in one night. Massive
hangover
but wait thats not all, you get to use the club showers and change rooms any time the club is open and Pete (Mr President to you), has promised us a paddlers only outdoor shower and maybe a spa tub if we are good. He said that he may organise after paddle massages for members only.
Happy endings
This saturday Sam is bringing the snags there will be cold beer on tap.
So come on down to the Skiffies Saturday arvo 3pm join up or enter and get into some of the best paddling at this end of the galaxy.
Aloha
Ya gota die sometime
Probably just drive the rescue boat drink beer and eat sausages
I am still up for a down winder and can do distance just not at race pace.
jen and George are both going to paddle,
You Mexicans should come up when we put on a special event later in the year
Maybe we could have a race where you skull a beer at every beach in Middle Harbour that would be a 10 beer trip.
If you want to join the skiffies i will even throw in a set of bird spoons
Cheers

Sounds like a plan - gotta get out of here before the weather depresses me to the point of suicide.....
Email me the forms and I'll join - love bird spoons!
Things looking good for tomorrow night with lots of interest from the ski and prone guys as well. We've got a few fun courses planned and we'll take advantage of the expected NorEaster.
With lots of beginners indicating they're comimg tomorrow the boats are organised and we'll run a special 2km course for them.
See you there.
Awesome Day yesterday with a great paddle of around 5.5 kms for the sups and 7km for the skis. We had a nice little 10 knot North easterly and a little wind swell to run back down Middle Harbour. Every one had a good paddle and then back to the Club for a brief presentation and a beer and sausage cooked ably by Jenny.
The long Course was won by Harrison a young guy from the central coast he beat out a pretty hot field. Results will be posted on the training group page.
The Ski guys had a great race and we hope to see a lot more of them and there friends in future. Keep training Chris.
Thanks to Adam Bridgewater of Bridgeys Earthmoving for 2 memberships to the Middle Harbour 16 ft skiff club as prizes.
Thanks to every one for making it happen including Pete the hardest working President in the country and Young Sam who got the sausos and to all the other helpers with whom we would not have an event.
Great paddling, great venue, great day.
See you all again next month
Aloha

I detect a skiffie takeover of the Sydney SUP scene happening here...
Why do dim distant memories of a 12 hour drive to join a drunken rum party in the middle of the night, followed by a still drunken race around the harbour come flooding back?
Andrew, you'd better step in!
(Although thinking about it, I reckon Aloha, Nozza and I may be the only ones who have got the runs on the board to do a 10 beer race - maybe with the exception of Kieran...)
