This was big news down here over the weekend. I was away but found this footage from an OS report.
Lucky our friend from the deep was in a playful mood!

Classic computer generated commentary!

First up a whale is a mammal not a fish Miss computer voice. That whale was so close to shore the temptation is too great to paddle out and get close. Boats are a different story they need to stay away. This whale was probably coming in to say thanks for stopping the Japanese from sticking a harpoon in it's head. Beautiful creatures and exposure like this just want people to protect them more , so right or wrong by the surfers the whales are the winners.

Classic! Good point Piros. From one of the locals-

You know the funny thing is when they say Surfers harassed Whale. The paper does not make reference to the Whale being harassed for an hour from a stupid news helicopter hovering over which forced it to leave. I live on the beach the chopper was only about 300 meters off the water

As if a whale is going to be harassed by some puny humans on surfboards. He would be like the HULK and just smash them if he wanted. Its like all the people banging on about the people who tried to help the whale stranded on the Goldy. If nothing else it probably felt comfort in the company.

Not a good idea to surround it in shallow water though. Imagine if it decided to let loose, it would be about 100x what happened to this guy...

Except some of those great people on the Goldies spat on the actual Seaworld workers when they trird to stop them as their actions were stressing the juvenile whale......
