Paddle Loop is going on the road.

The Wellington Dam is full and presents a unique opportunity to go for a paddle (what else was it going to do!!).

The Bunbury Baymasters will host this edition, and we'll look at plotting a 4-5km course, which then gives those who are super keen, a bit of gas left in the tank to go for a social paddle afterwards.

Camp facilities are available, although basic and bush camp style. The Dam is approx 1.5/2 hours from the cbd and lends itself for an awesome day trip with a car load of mates.

We can't guarantee the dam will still be over flowing but with a little more rain over the next couple of weeks, there is a good chance.

Time: Around 0830
Distance: 4-5km
Why: Because we can
Format: The usual guess time deal
Cost: Nothing, it's not a race it's just a loop. In fact we'd not even care if everyone voted to go for a cruise instead.

Thanks mate. I'm relatively new to the sport. Would it be an event that would be suitable for someone without heaps of experience?

Perfect for beginners, crystal clear fresh flat water in the middle of state forest. Paddling in locations like this you'll be kicking yourself why you didn't cotton onto this earlier, I know we all did after our first paddle on the dam

Scoot south from Perth on the Forrest Hwy, turn left into Raymond Road at Australind, and basically follow the signs to Collie. Google maps says over two hours, but in all reality it can be done in around 1 1/2.

The Dam is well signposted off the Coalfields Hwy heading to Collie, follow Wellington Dam Rd until you see a sign turning you left into Potters Gorge, then it's only a few km's to the water. There is a car park next to the toilet block and only a short walk from there to the water
