Im looking at getting a SUP to help me survive the windless winter ( windsurfer). I want to use the board in small to medium waves and occasional flat water. Pref with a mast foot so I have that option. Ive been looking at the fanatic allwave but Im not sure of what size is best for me ( 68kgs) any advice would be appreciated.
Ather options are ....10.6 10'10 11', 11.4 Nalu ..GT .naish ..has accomadation for a mast base .i also windsurf ,but it feels weird without foot straps .they all come in GS which is cheaper .but 1 kg heavier. It s like windsurfing you'll end up buying more than one board .great sport ,you'll like it ..
What's the best volume for my weight, I would rather have something to grow into then out off quickly
Well if you really need the sail fitting ...you are limited ...maybe go for a wave board ..and forget about the mast fitting .or just get the 10.6 Nalu ....I haven't ridden the 10.6 ..only the 11.4 ..but everybody raves about it ,so it must be good .best thing to do is demo a few boards ,to see what and how small you can go ...but at 68 kgs 163 litres should be no problem for you ..go to board talk and reviews...punch in a search .....great reviews...on most boards ..
Most JP and I think some Starboard have windsurfing fittings. I Have 2 JPs and - a Naish 10 6 Narlu, love the design plus have sailed on it but now would not again as is a very delicate board and would self destruct.
Hey I'm also windsurfer and surfer who has just bought my first SUP, a Fanatic Allwave, to get me through the doldrums. Got the 8' 11" and it comes with the mast foot anchor. I weigh the same as you and find it a great board, (but I haven't tried too many other SUPs). Id certainly recommend it.

ANY Sunova comes with the mini windsurf track.

Don't put too much emphasis on volume, although you need a certain amount to float you it is more important as to where it is distributed. The All Waves are a great example as they are quite thick and carry the wide point through a fair amount of the centre area. Taking these factors I to consideration makes it quite a large board, volume wise, into a small board. As an example the 9'5 x 32.25 All wave is 170l the Starboard Whopper 10 x 34 is 171l. So very similar in terms of literage but 2 very different boards.
